Expressing “Akebono,” the dawn, with its sense of new expectations, this stunning timepiece is inspired by the morning twilight, as the sky brightens with the sunrise. The three-dimensional, gloss-coated, multi-layered dial, in rich gradated sapphire blue, includes rose gold accents to suggest the first glimmers of sun, as does the sharp sunray-like form of the markers and second hand. With a date display and LumiBrite hands and markers, the dial also features the Presage Sharp-Edged Series’ Asanoha hemp-leaf motif, a symbol of growth and prosperity dating to the Heian Period (794-1185 AD). Crafted of stainless steel, with black hard coating, this extraordinary watch offers a 24-jewel automatic movement, visible through the screw-down, see-through caseback, that beats at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, with a power reserve of approximately 70 hours and manual winding capability.
